Learning from Rebekah

Imagine saying goodbye to your home, your parents, your relatives, and close friends . . . forever. For most of us that’s not a very pleasant thought. Now imagine saying your forever farewell as a teenager.

The second matriarch of the people of Israel (after Sarah) was Rebekah, the wife of Isaac. Invited by Abraham’s servant to leave the only home and family she’d ever known in order to marry a man she’d never met or even seen, Rebekah must have heard in the servant’s proposal a divine whisper. The very next day she was on a camel bound for Canaan.

Like Rebekah was for Isaac, the Church is God’s divinely chosen bride for His Son, Jesus. Click the picture above to listen to this week’s full sermon and discover in Rebekah the attitude God desires for all His people.
